Freeze Dates February 27th & 28th 2008

By following the directions given to me, I applied the foam to approximately 50 acres of a 100 acre watermelon field. I began putting out the foam 3 or 4 hours before the temperatures reached the freezing point. I continued to apply the foam up until the point that I saw damage to the unprotected plants and my employees had ice on their jackets.

That night the temperatures dropped to 26 degrees and remained below freezing for about 8 hours. Once the foam dissipated I was able to see that the plants that were covered by the foam appeared completely unharmed by the cold weather while the part that was unprotected was completely destroyed. There have been no residual effects from the foam and the plants in that area continue to flourish.

February 2006

I had 50 acres plus of melons in the ground and a cold front moved through the middle of the state. I put out the foam using the 600 gallon foam tank and was able to cover my melons quickly. It was a cold night and my plants came through it.

Two days later we had another cold front move through, again I placed out the foam and my crop was saved. The other melon crops around my area did not make it. I was the only one with melons in the ground.

Jack Frost Foam saved my crop.

January 17 2005

We planted two rows of tomatoes, pepper some watermelon and strawberry plants in existing beds as a test. The plants were starters from my greenhouse.

On test day 1 we placed out the foam at 3:00 pm and finished at 4:00pm. We installed thermometers that read the lowest temperature reached inside the foam and outside the foam. During the day the temperature was 55ºF and at night it fell to a low of 23 ºF and was below 32 ºF for 10 hours. The temperature under the foam near the plants did not go lower than 41 ºF.

On test day 2 we placed some more foam on plants that where showing through. Again the temperature during the day reached 50 ºF and again at night the coldest that we reached was 22 ºF. It was below 32 ºF for at least 10 hours. The coldest temperature inside the foam was 43 ºF.

The plants came through on both nights with no freeze damage. This product works and I will use it in the future.
